The short version: LiveWorth is privacy-first by design. We never access your bank accounts, never sell your data, and never share your financial information with advertisers. Your financial data is stored securely and is only accessible by you.
1. Who We Are
LiveWorth ("we," "our," or "us") operates the LiveWorth mobile application (the "App") and the website at liveworth.app (the "Website"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App and Website.
By using LiveWorth, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App or Website.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Your name (as provided by your Google or Apple Sign-In account)
- Your email address
- A unique user identifier
We collect this information through Google Sign-In and/or Apple Sign-In. We do not store your Google or Apple password.
2.2 Financial Information You Provide
LiveWorth does not connect to your bank accounts, brokerage accounts, or any financial institution. All financial data is manually entered by you, including:
- Asset names, types, and values (investment accounts, cash, real estate, vehicles, crypto, other assets)
- Liability names, types, and balances (mortgages, credit cards, auto loans, student loans, lines of credit, other debts)
- Ticker symbols for stock, ETF, mutual fund, and cryptocurrency holdings
- Account type classifications (e.g., TFSA, RRSP, 401(k), IRA)
- Currency preferences and region settings
2.3 Automatically Collected Information
When you use the App, we may automatically collect:
- Device information: Device type, operating system version, and unique device identifiers
- Usage data: App feature usage, session duration, and interaction patterns (collected via Firebase Analytics, if enabled)
- Crash data: Crash logs and performance diagnostics to help us fix bugs and improve the App (collected via Firebase Crashlytics, if enabled)
- Market data requests: Ticker symbols you look up for live price tracking (sent to our servers to fetch prices)
2.4 Subscription Information
If you subscribe to LiveWorth Pro, your purchase is processed entirely by the Apple App Store. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. We receive:
- Your subscription status (active, expired, trial)
- The product purchased (monthly or annual plan)
- An anonymous subscriber identifier
We do not receive or store your payment method, credit card number, or Apple ID password.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the LiveWorth App
- Calculate and display your net worth, charts, and financial snapshots
- Fetch live market prices for your stock, ETF, mutual fund, and cryptocurrency holdings
- Convert values between currencies using live foreign exchange rates
- Manage your subscription and entitlements
- Send you important service-related communications (e.g., security alerts, account issues)
- Diagnose technical problems and improve App performance
- Comply with legal obligations
4. How We Store and Protect Your Data
Your financial data is stored on secure cloud servers using industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest. We use:
- Firebase Authentication for secure account management
- PostgreSQL database hosted on secure, encrypted cloud infrastructure for net worth snapshots and financial data
- Firebase ID tokens to authenticate all API requests between the App and our servers
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
We may share limited information with the following categories of service providers, solely to operate the App:
- Firebase (Google): Authentication, analytics, and crash reporting
- RevenueCat: Subscription management
- Market data providers: We send ticker symbols to third-party financial data APIs to retrieve live prices. No personal information is included in these requests.
- Hosting providers: Our servers are hosted on secure cloud infrastructure
We may also disclose your information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of LiveWorth, our users, or others.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account information and financial data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the App. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal and financial data from our servers within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it.
Aggregated, anonymized data that cannot be used to identify you may be retained indefinitely for analytical purposes.
7. Your Rights and Choices
7.1 Access and Portability
You can view all of the financial data you have entered in the App at any time. You may request a copy of your data by contacting us.
7.2 Correction
You can update or correct your financial data directly within the App at any time.
7.3 Deletion
You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us at support@liveworth.app. Apple also requires that we provide a way to delete your account, which is available in the App's Settings.
7.4 Opt-Out of Analytics
You can limit data collection by adjusting your device settings or by contacting us to opt out of analytics tracking.
7.5 Canadian Privacy Rights
If you are a resident of Canada, you have rights under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), including the right to access, correct, and request deletion of your personal information. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below.
7.6 California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to request deletion, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
8. Children's Privacy
LiveWorth is not intended for use by children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in certain jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us immediately and we will promptly delete it.
9. International Data Transfers
Our servers may be located in the United States or Canada. If you access the App from outside these countries, your information may be transferred to and processed in a country with different data protection laws than your country of residence. By using the App, you consent to this transfer.
10. Third-Party Links
The App or Website may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing them with any personal information.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
